I believe a retreat like this, an experience like this, is meant to help address the vicarious trauma and moral injury of healthcare professionals in the United States; especially being far away from day to day life, together with other physicians, healthcare professionals and a supportive staff. This creates the ideal set, setting and container to help heal us from within, find "connection", a "sense of community", "togetherness", "feeling "whole" again and feeling "plugged in". It restores the desire to reconnect with community, family, and our patients as we rediscover (self)love and the appreciation for all living creatures, which improves our collective quality of life.

I am forever grateful for the healing medicine of Ayahuasca, the Colombian land, sacred plant teachings, curanderos and profound metamorphosis I experienced. I was able to release deeply rooted and heavy energy that was been with me my whole life. It was not easy, but I was able to be held and supported in a manner that allowed such a release and cleanse. It was purely divine and transformative. I left Colombia with an open heart and new sense of being. I am filled with joy, grace, creativity and a love that cannot be explained but only felt with my heart and soul. Forever grateful to be part of the Church of the Eagle & Condor and such a beautiful community. Thank you to the Creator for my life. Thank you Dr. Joe, Cvita, Xochi and to Kewal for making magic happen on this Earth and in my life. Abundant Blessings to you and yours. Always. A'Ho.

My experience at this retreat with Joe, Cvita, Marvin, Xochi, Jose, and Cesar was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I felt safe, supported, and welcomed into a space that was both beautiful and deeply tranquil — the perfect setting for such profound inner work. The ceremonies were masterfully guided, blending wisdom, compassion, and care that allowed me to explore my own healing journey with confidence. The process was challenging in all the right ways, and ultimately transformative — opening me to new levels of clarity, forgiveness, and connection. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared: the nourishing, well-balanced meals, the serene natural surroundings, and the loving presence of the entire team. Their guidance created an environment that was both safe and sacred, where magic seemed to unfold naturally. I left feeling renewed, lighter, and more aligned with who I truly am. If you are looking for an experience that is healing, adventurous, and deeply transformative, I cannot recommend this retreat enough.

The retreat was so much more than just a chance to sit with plant medicine, it was a deep immersion into the local culture, their traditions and beliefs, and a simpler way of living. This created a depth to the week that I don’t think we would have gotten elsewhere.

This retreat provided a safe space to work out some tough issues that had been causing me suffering for most of my life. It inspired me to make changes in my attitude at work that I predict will help me be more effective and more supportive of others. I was surrounded by kindness during my journeys.

A wonderful experience in every sense - the wide ranging ceremonies (sweat lodge, multiple ayahuasca, and yopo), the setting, the shamans, and the kind and accommodating staff at the retreat facility - all top notch. I gained a lot of critical perspectives and insights!

I had a wonderful experience. I felt safe and cared for, which allowed me to work through some things and go deeper. There is a lot of intention and care built into this retreat. It also was relaxed which allowed time for stillness to reflect on our process which I appreciated.

This retreat was one of, perhaps the most meaningful and joyful experiences of my life. So many things came together, and so many knots were untied for me within this loving container held by the group, and the gifted facilitators.

This experience with Modern Spirit has been nothing short of amazing! I felt called to this retreat and to ayahuasca for the first time, especially due to the focus on healthcare workers. The blending of traditional ancestral wisdom with modern healthcare workers and applications, in line with the prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor, is exactly what I was seeking. I experienced our interconnected energy, love, and Spirit beyond. My healing process was jumpstarted, and I experienced a letting go of residues I have long held onto. I have left cleansed, changed, and profoundly impacted, with more clarity to continue on my path with renewed energy and passion. Thank you!

I have such gratitude and admiration for our facilitators: Xochi Bucuru, Cvita Mamic, Dr. Joe Tafur, and Maestro Jose Bravo. Their care and dedication, deep knowledge, and many years of effort are deeply felt. Being in such good hands, I could thoroughly relax into this sacred healing space. The retreat opened up a timeless path in personal healing, learning, and growth in connection with Indigenous sacred plant medicine that will continue to unfold for me. The retreat space at Jardin del Agua is a slice of heaven. The food was wonderful. All of the people there are so warm and caring. Everything is so well thought out. Thank you all so very much!
